Working alone has its pleasures: I got a truckload of work accomplished at the office today. Amazing what you can get done when 50 per cent of the staff is on vacation, and when you receive a mere four phone calls and seven emails all day. If every day were like this, I'd leave the office feeling as good as I do today.

Saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night. Thoroughly enjoyable, especially the last half hour of the movie when the characters go back in time and revisit the course of events to try and change the outcome. Really well done. My one lament is that not enough screen time was given to Alan Rickman. Really, I could watch the man all day. Regrettably, the target market for Harry Potter is probably not as fascinated by Rickman's pulsating sex appeal as I am.

Post movie, Jane and I headed back to my place where we knocked off a bottle of wine and reminisced, among other things, about Carswell. It was once a powerful, brilliant, but darkly dangerous place for me and all these years later I still feel its tug. Carswell was no Hogwarts, but it did have its share of charms, demons, heroes and monsters, and I, like so many others, fell completely under its spell.
