Sunday, April 20, 2003 Well, the dinner party went off pretty much without a hitch. Thank God. Did have a minor delay on account of blowing a fuse which turned off my stove - and didn't figure it out for about half an hour and wondered why the hell it was taking an eternity to steam my carrots. Thank God for handy Kurt who guessed what the problem was and got my stove working again.I really need myself a man of my own who can fix me up when I am in jams like this. In all things mechanical I am pretty much your classically useless female. Used a great line at dinner that won me a lot of laughs: I'm about one bad relationship away from being one of those women with 30 cats. Funny sad. posted by Cherine | 11:32 PM John Lowry is getting married today. Wish I didn't know that but someone told me the date and it's stuck in my head. Truly I wish him well. Though we are better off without each other, I nonetheless feel a lingering fondness. Love well John! posted by Cherine | 12:07 AM Hideously long since I posted my last blog. Much has happened in the interim: Got into the Masters of Communications Studies at UofC and also landed myself a swanky corporate job with Canadian Natural Resources. Not too shabby for a girl who, about six months ago, was ready to call it quits, pack her bags, and head for anywhere but here. Moved into my new condo at the end of March (another milestone) - a very chi-chi joint with a +15 right into Mount Royal Village. I'm already spending heaps of dough living here; can't walk down 17th Avenue without buying something. Tomorrow night is the inaugural dinner dinner party chez Tiger Bean. It'll mostly be a low-key affair with just my parents and Sneh & Kurt (who are practically like family). Am going to try my hand at an Easter ham with scalloped potatoes and peas.
